Aculem Expands Vocabulary Database with 8,000 New Terms

Why this matters

Vocabulary acquisition isn't about memorising lists. It requires seeing words in different contexts, understanding subtle differences between similar terms, and recognising when certain expressions fit naturally into conversation. We built this database by analysing thousands of authentic texts, conversations, and written materials to identify which words appear together and how they shift meaning across situations.

Each entry now includes multiple example sentences drawn from real usage, audio pronunciations recorded by native speakers, and notes on formality levels. If you're learning business English, you'll see how a word behaves in professional settings. If you're preparing for academic reading, you'll encounter it in scholarly contexts.

This isn't a quick fix. Building a working vocabulary takes consistent exposure and practice. What we've done is organise that exposure so you're not wasting time on outdated phrases or overly formal expressions that nobody actually uses anymore.
